International Women's Day

International Women's Day - http://linkqueen.com

International Women’s Day (IWD) (March 8) is a global day. Celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

IWD has occurred for well over a century. The first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. This was in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland. Prior to this the Socialist Party of America advocated along with the United Kingdom Suffragists. In addition, other groups campaigned for women’s equality, as well.

Today, IWD belongs to all groups, collectively everywhere. IWD is not a country, group or organization specific. Make IWD your day – every day. Start today!

Last year, several companies celebrated IWD by having sales to support women.

Visit our Women’s Clothing page for some fantastic deals! This is the year for a New You! Many of our stores are woman-owned businesses. Supporting other women & patronizing each other’s businesses is a great way to empower each other.

Finally, more women are also getting involved in politics than ever before. It is an exciting time to celebrate women’s unique social and political achievements. In conclusion, cherish these monumental contributions to society.

Lastly, how do you plan on celebrating International Women’s Day?
